Viewing History

You can view the version and workflow transition history of an item. For each version, the history lists the comments, revision numbers, creation dates, and names of the users who modified the item.

You can also view the version history of linked files from Item Explorer. Use SOLIDWORKS PDM File Explorer to modify a version comment for a file.

To view the history of an item:

  1. Right-click an item and select History.
  2. In the History dialog box, do any:
    • To display event details, click a row in the events list.
    • To print a report of all events, click Print or right-click in the events list and select Print.
    • To save a report of all events, right-click in the events list and select Save history.
    • To open a report of all events in Excel, right-click in the events list and select Open history.
    • To add or change version comments, click a version, change the Comment, then click Update.
  3. Click Close.
