You can configure a part's material in the Modify Configurations dialog box.
To show the appropriate material appearance in each
configuration, display states must be linked to configurations.
Before
configuring
a material, right-click a display state at the bottom of
the ConfigurationManager: CAD Family 
tab or the ConfigurationManager 
tab, and click Properties. In the Display State Properties PropertyManager, under Advanced Options, select Link display states to configurations.

Open the part component.

In the FeatureManager design tree, right-click Material
and click
Configure Material
.
The Modify
Configurations dialog box appears. In the Material column, a list of material favorites is
available for each configuration.

To specify a material for a configuration, click
in the
Material column, and then do one of
the following:
- Select a
material from the list.
- Select
Browse More at the bottom of the
list to access the Material dialog box,
where you can select a predefined material or create a custom
material.
