Export

On the Export page, you can specify options for when you export to Microsoft® Excel®.

To access this dialog box, click Home (ribbon) and click Options > Project Options > Export.

PDF Export

Filename

Prompt for PDF filename Lets you change the file name when you export to PDF.
Default suffix Specifies the value appended to the original drawing file name when you export to PDF.

For example, if you specify Default suffix as -ballooned, and if the original drawing file is named Drawing 123, when you export the ballooned inspection drawing to a PDF, the name is Drawing 123-ballooned.

Default prefix Specifies the prefix that is added to the original drawing file name when you export to PDF.

Markup

Save as comments Saves balloons and notes as a separate layer in the exported PDF that you can turn on or off with comments or layers in the PDF viewer.
Merge with document Keeps balloons and notes as part of the PDF with no separate comments layer.

Credit

Share the credit with SOLIDWORKS Inspection Inserts Ballooned by SOLIDWORKS Inspection in the ballooned PDF. Select a location for the credit within the drawing border.

Other

View file after saving Opens the PDF file after you save it.
Separate PDF for each drawing (2D) Creates a separate PDF for each drawing in the project.
Resolution Specifies the PDF resolution.
Default Export Folder Specifies the location where the PDF is saved.

Excel Export

Filename

Prompt for Excel filename Lets you change the file name when you export to Microsoft Excel.
Default suffix Specifies the value appended to the original drawing file name when you export to Microsoft Excel.

For example, if you specify Default suffix as -ballooned, and if the original drawing file is named Drawing 123, when you export the ballooned inspection drawing to Microsoft Excel, the name is Drawing 123-ballooned.

Default prefix Specifies the prefix that is added to the original drawing file name when you export to Microsoft Excel.
Adjust Image Captures in Excel Lets you specify exported image sizes.

Capture Rectangle Images

   
Fit image to cell Keeps exported image captures within the cell size of the report template.

Specify the Contrast, which makes the exported images lighter (1) or darker (4).

Fit cell to image Forces the exported image captures to fit the cell Height or Width in the report template.

Select Apply Zoom % and specify a value to resize exported image captures in inspection reports. For example, to reduce the size of images in reports, enter a lower number such as 80% instead of 125%.

Other

View file after saving Opens the Microsoft Excel file after you save it.
Default Export Folder Specifies the location where the Microsoft Excel file is saved.
Default Export Template Specifies the template to use for image captures.

XML Export

View file after saving Opens the XML file after you save it.
