Publishing to Net-Inspect

After you balloon the inspection characteristics, you can export the inspection project data to the Net-Inspect quality management system.

To publish to Net-Inspect:

  1. Click Net-Inspect (Home ribbon) or File > Publish > Net-Inspect.
  2. In the Login dialog box, enter your Net-Inspect credentials.
  3. In the FAI Options dialog box, specify:
Detail FAI Publishes the project to Net-Inspect as detailed First Article Inspection (FAI).
Assembly FAI Publishes the project to Net-Inspect as assembly level First Article Inspection (FAI).
Full FAI Publishes the project to Net-Inspect as full completion level of the First Article Inspection (FAI).
Partial FAI Publishes the project to Net-Inspect as partial completion level of the First Article Inspection (FAI). Specify:
    • Baseline Part Number Including Revision Level
    • Reason For Partial FAI
  4. In the Append/Overwrite FAI dialog box, specify:
New FAI Creates a new FAI in Net-Inspect. SOLIDWORKS Inspection stores the Net-Inspect FAI Report Number on the Project Properties tab of the Properties/Preferences PropertyManager.
Append to existing FAI Adds data from the SOLIDWORKS Inspection project to an existing FAI in Net-Inspect.

Data is appended only if the uploaded project has a greater number of items in Forms 1, 2, or 3 than the existing FAI. Additional items are added to the end of the FAI. Changes to the existing data are not published.

Overwrite existing FAI Overwrites existing FAI in Net-Inspect. This removes any existing data such as Form 1, 2, and 3 data including any uploaded documents and replaces them with data in the SOLIDWORKS Inspection project.
FAI # (for Append/Overwrite) (Required if you select Append to existing FAI or Overwrite existing FAI.) Specifies the FAI number to modify in Net-Inspect.

If you have previously uploaded the current open project to Net-Inspect, FAI # is prepopulated.

  5. Select files to upload and click Publish.
When the publish finishes, SOLIDWORKS Inspection displays a link to view the published FAI in Net-Inspect and the new FAI number.
