Using Manual Extract With PDF Files

To use Manual Extract with PDF files:

  1. Click New .
  2. In the Project Template dialog box, select a template and click .
  3. In the Open CAD/PDF File dialog box, select a PDF file and click Open.
  4. Click Manual Extract (Document ribbon) and select the type of annotation to balloon:
    • Dimension
    • Geometric Tolerances
    • Note
    • Surface Finish
    • Weld
    • Other. Includes annotations such as temperature, torque, and electrical resistance.
  5. Box-select an annotation of the type that you selected in the previous step.
    A balloon appears next to the extracted annotation, the image appears at the top of the Characteristic tab in the Properties/Preferences PropertyManager, and values appear in the Characteristics tab of the Table Manager.

  6. In the Properties/Preferences PropertyManager, under General, Inspection, Ballooning, and Custom, enter values for the remaining data in the annotation.
