ERP database connection
You can connect an external database, such as equipment stock management
database, to manufacturer catalogs. This lets you retrieve data from your
database and associate it with the electrical project components.

Opens a dialog box that lets you configure links between the SOLIDWORKS Electrical
database and your personal database.
Authorize connection to management
data database: Check this box to activate the connection between
the two databases.
Custom database for catalogs management
You can choose either to connect to the database supplied in SOLIDWORKS Electrical
or to your own personal database.
Connection to database
Enter the settings for the connection to the ERP database.
Database type: Enter the type
of database (ADO Access, SQL Server, SQLite or ODBC Data source).
Server name: Enter the name
of the server for the SQL Server database. This setting is used in all
connection modes except the ODBC Data
source option.
Data source: Opens the
Windows selection data source dialog box to select the file you want to
connect. This setting is only available if you select the ODBC Data source option.
User name: Enter the user name
to connect to the SQL Server database.
Password: Enter the password
to connect to the SQL Server database.
Database name: Enter the
database name you want to connect.
Write data: Select the mode
for updating data in the ERP database. If you enable Read-only
mode, the data will not be updated in the ERP database.
The Test connection button tests
the connection between the two databases.
Main data
Manages the links between the various tables and fields in the database
(Manufacturer parts and cable references).
Table name: Select the name
of the table in the ERP database where the data is.
Reference: Select the field
in the ERP database where you can find the reference.
Manufacturer: Select the field
in the ERP database where you can find the manufacturer.
User data for manufacturer parts - cable references
Allows you to connect the fields in the ERP database with the manufacturer
part user data. The Customize...
button lets you access the management interface for manufacturer reference
user data.
