Controlling Dimension Bounding Boxes

You can control the use and display of dimension bounding boxes.

Dimension bounding boxes help you to align the dimensions of assembled entities along the box margins at defined offsets.

If dimension bounding boxes are enabled, the context menu lets you:
  • Create a dimension bounding box
  • Append entities to a specified dimension bounding box
  • Delete a specified dimension bounding box

To control dimensioning bounding boxes:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click Tools > Options (or type Options). In the Options dialog box, click Drawing Settings .
    • Type DrawingSettings.
  2. Expand Dimension snap offset distances.
  3. Under Bounding Box, set:
    • Enable dimension bounding box.

More options are available in the context menu.

    • Show dimension bounding box.

  4. If additional lines make it hard to read the drawing, hide the dimension bounding box. You can also turn the bounding box display on and off by clicking the Dimension Bounding Box button on the status bar.
