Materials in SOLIDWORKS Simulation

You can:

  • Define orthotropic and anisotropic materials.
  • Use nonlinear analysis to simulate many material behaviors, for example, rubbers, soils, and foam.
  • Create your own material library or add new materials to the SOLIDWORKS Materials library.
  • Define temperature-dependent material properties.
  • Define composite shells with up to 50 layers, each with a different isotropic or orthotropic material. Supported composites include: symmetric laminate, unsymmetric laminate, and sandwich composite.
