Publish to 3D PDF PropertyManager

You can use the Publish to 3D PDF PropertyManager to specify details for a 3D PDF file of the active model.

To open the Publish to 3D PDF PropertyManager:

  1. Click Publish to 3D PDF (MBD toolbar or 3D Views tab).
  2. In the Template Selection dialog box, select a template and click OK.
In the PropertyManager, the number of pages and the options available depend on the template you selected.

Back

 Switches between pages in the PropertyManager. Also updates the 3D PDF preview to the corresponding page.
  Browse Lets you browse to select a different template.
Security Settings Opens the 3D PDF Security dialog box, where you can specify options for securing the data in the 3D PDF file. You can:
  • Specify a password and a master password.
  • Disable printing, editing, and copying.
  • Publish only the graphical data.
3D PDF Template Editor Opens the 3D PDF Template Editor dialog box, where you can edit the current template.

Primary & Thumbnail Views

Specifies the views to include in the Primary Viewport. Click in the box and then select views from the 3D Views tab in the bottom pane.

In the 3D PDF file, the first view in the list is shown in the Primary Viewport. Other views are added to the Thumbnail Carousel.

Independent Viewport

Specifies the view to use in each viewport. The number of viewports depends on the template you selected.

Custom Property Fields

In the table, define text and custom property values to associate with fields in the document.
Copy Properties to all pages  

Bend Table

Specifies a sheet metal bend table to include in the 3D PDF. Select a bend table.

Columns to include Lists all the columns available in the selected bend table. Select the columns to appear in the 3D PDF file.

Accuracy

Show BREP data Specify the accuracy for BREP data.
Maximum No lossy compression (may result in very large file size).
High

0.001mm tolerance (low compression, high accuracy)

Low lossy compression may result in large file size.
Medium

0.01mm tolerance (medium compression, medium accuracy)

Medium lossy compression may result in moderate file size.
Low

0.1mm tolerance (high compression, low accuracy)

High lossy compression may result in smaller file size.
Use lossy compression on tessellation Applies lossy compression to the polygons in the model.
Show only graphical data Displays data in graphics, such as charts and graphs, in the graphics area.

Attachments

Create and attach STEP 242 Exports parts and assemblies, including PMI, in STEP 242 format.
Attach Files Opens the file browser. Select files to add to the list of attached files. Use Delete and Delete All to remove files from the list.

Bill of Materials

Specifies a BOM table to include in the 3D PDF. Select a bill of materials.

Columns to include Lists all the columns available in the selected BOM. Select the columns to appear in the 3D PDF file.
Columns in grid Specifies the number of BOM columns to display in the 3D PDF.

Notes & Text Area

Lists imported notes found within the selected template. In the list, select notes to import.
