Importing and Exporting Hole Wizard Data

You can import and export data from Microsoft® Excel files for Hole Wizard holes. This is helpful when you edit an entire standard or create several new sizes of holes.

To import and export hole wizard data:

  1. In Windows, click Start > SOLIDWORKS Tools version > Toolbox Settings version.
  2. In SOLIDWORKS, click Configure in the SOLIDWORKS System Options - Hole Wizard/Toolbox dialog box.
  3. In the dialog box, click 1. Hole Wizard.
  4. Browse to the type of hole to import or export data for, such as ISO > Straight Holes > Tap Drills.
  5. Under Standard Properties, click the arrow on the Microsoft Excel button and click one of the following:
    Option Description
    Import Hole Data Tables Imports hole table data into Toolbox. If there are errors in the data, an error report appears. After the import, you can:
    • Replace existing data tables. Removes all existing data from the current data tables and replaces it with data from the imported file.
    • Append new data to existing data tables. Adds the imported data to the end of the current data tables.
    Export Hole Data Tables Saves the hole table data to a Microsoft Excel file.
