You
can define barrel tools to generate toolpaths, mainly for multiaxis finishing operations
in
SOLIDWORKS CAM and the Technology
Database. An advantage to using barrel
tools is that they provide a larger area of contact, which results in a better surface
finish.
In the Operations Parameters dialog box, under the Tool tab, you can select Standard, Conical Tangent,
Tapered, Lens, or Advanced as the
barrel
tool type. You can also define profiles to create custom barrel tools.
