Changing the Function of a Drawing

Each drawing is associated with a function when the drawing is created. By default, the function is associated with the book. You can change the function for drawings.

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click a drawing and click Change function.
    • In Drawing properties, click Function .
The function selection dialog box opens.
  2. Select a new function.
The components initially associated with the drawing's original function are associated with the new function.
  3. In the dialog box, specify the following options:

Change component function Components with the same function as the drawing are automatically associated with the new function. If the component was drawn on several drawings, all symbols representing the component are associated with the new function (even if the drawings are not affected by the change of function).

For terminal strips, only the function of the terminals is changed. The terminal strips are attached to remain in their initial function.

Change drawing function only The drawing itself is associated with the new function, and no changes are made to the content of the drawing.
Cancel Cancels the current command. No changes are made to the drawing or its content.
