Hotspot Properties

You can set hotspot properties in the Properties pane.

Show
Specifies whether the hotspot is active in the viewport. Select Enable to activate the hotspot. When enabled, the hotspot highlight color, tooltip, and link definition take precedence over individual actor highlighting, tooltips, and links.
Note: Disabling a hotspot affects viewport behavior only. To disable hotspots in vector output, clear Export custom hotspots on the Technical Illustration - Hotspots tab. See Technical Illustration - Hotspots.
Tooltip
Specifies the tooltip text that appears when you hover over the hotspot in the viewport or generated vector image.
Note: You cannot create multi-line tooltips.
Color
Specifies the highlight color when you hover over the hotspot in the viewport or generated vector image.
Note: CGM files do not store highlight colors. The highlight color depends on the CGM viewer.
Event
Link

Defines the action performed when a user clicks an actor or hotspot in the viewport or in vector image output (see the Technical Illustration - Hotspots tab).

To create an event link:

  1. Click in the Link field and then click .
  2. In the Select a Link dialog box, select a link type in the URL field, specify an appropriate target for that type, and then click OK.

    See Select a Link.

  3. To test the event in the viewport, disable Design Mode (status bar) and then click the actor or hotspot.
Pack linked resource

(Available when the Link property specifies a file:// URL.) Includes the linked file as part of the Composer document. To omit the file, clear this property and ensure that recipients of the document have the linked file in the same absolute path.

CGM Attributes
Application Structure Ident
(Applies to technical illustrations generated in the CGM format, and compliant with the S1000D 4.x standard. See Options Tab.) Specifies the value used in the XML companion file for the applicationStructureIdent attribute of the hotspot element.
Note: If you do not specify a value, some default values will be used in the XML companion file.
