Views

You can create and update views.

Icon Command Name Description
Create View Creates a view according to the workshop settings. When you capture all items ( Zoom fit all and BOM Description do not matter), a normal view is created. Otherwise, a custom view is created.
Update Views with Selected Items Updates the selected views with your Select items to capture selections. For example, you can update one or more views with new camera positions and actor properties without changing viewport properties.
Note: Updating a custom view adds the selected items to the view definition. For example, when you update with Viewport selected a custom view that captures only camera position, the view definition now includes both Camera and Viewport.

Select items to capture

You can specify precisely which items you want to capture in a view.

Command Name Description
Retrieve View Settings Sets the capture properties to those of the view selected in the Views pane.
Camera Captures camera position.
Tip: You can also create a camera-only custom view with Create Camera View (Views pane).
Zoom fit all (Available when Camera is selected.) Zooms the scene to fit the viewport.
Viewport Captures viewport background properties, such as background color.
BOM Description Captures BOM description overrides. To change a BOM description, click a row in the BOM tree, press F2, and then type a new name. See BOM Pane.
Digger Captures Digger properties. See Digger Commands.
Hotspot properties Captures hotspot properties. See Toolbar Commands.
Actors Captures geometry and collaborative actor properties.
Apply to (Available when Actors is selected.) Specifies which actors to capture:
  • Selection
  • All
Visibility (Available when Actors is selected.) Captures actor visibility.
Properties (Available when Actors is selected.) Specifies the actor properties to capture:
  • None
  • All
  • Custom - Select one or more of the following:
    • Location - Captures positions in the 3D scene.
    • Opacity - Captures transparency.
    • Material - Captures the following properties: Color, Texture, Shininess, Emission, Environment effect.
    • Link - Captures event definitions.
    • Selected properties - Captures the properties selected in the Properties pane.
