Formatting Dimensions with the Dimension Palette

Use the dimension palette to format dimensions you insert or existing dimensions that you want to modify.

To format dimensions with the dimension palette:

  1. Insert or select a dimension.
  2. Click the dimension palette icon to open the dimension palette.
  3. Use the buttons at the top of the palette to set properties and formatting for the selected dimension.
    You can specify:
    • Tolerance formats
    • Unit and tolerance precision
    • Parentheses
    • Dimension centering or offset
    • Text justification
  4. Use the text boxes in the middle of the dimension palete to add text to the top and bottom of the dimension and to specify a prefix or suffix on either side of the dimension.
    Use the Text Justification control at the top of the palette to align text you add.
  5. If you applied a tolerance type, use additional fields that appear to the right of the dimension to specify the tolerance.
  6. To save and reuse formatting, use the Favorites buttons at the bottom of the screen.
  7. When you have finished modifying a dimension, press Esc twice to close the dimension palette and deselect the dimensions you have modified.
