Modifying Sheet Names and Numbers

You can change the drawing sheet title, the sheet name and number of any sheet using the Rename & Renumber dialog box. Additional options let you specify whether the drawing file is renamed to match the adjustments to the title and number.

Note: Modifying the sheet name (sheet tab) in the drawing file modifies the corresponding sheet title in the drawing sheet set and viceversa.

To renumber sheets from a Drawing Sheet Set:

  1. On the Sheet Set Manager, right-click a sheet and select Rename & Renumber from the context menu.
  2. In the Rename and Renumber dialog box,
    • Number. Specify the sheet number.
    • Sheet name. Specify the name of the sheet from the drawing associated with the drawing sheet. This modifies the corresponding sheet title in the associated drawing.
    • Drawing sheet title. Specify the drawing sheet title of the selected sheet. This modifies the corresponding drawing sheet in the Drawing Sheet List.
    • File name. Specify the name of the drawing file associated with the selected sheet.
    • Rename sheet to match the drawing sheet title. The sheet name changes to match the drawing sheet title. Selecting Prefix with drawing sheet number lets you add the sheet number to the beginning of the sheet title when renaming the sheet.
    • Rename drawing file to match the drawing sheet title. The drawing file name changes to match the sheet title. Selecting Prefix with drawing sheet number lets you add the drawing sheet number before the sheet title when renaming the drawing file.
  3. Use Back and Next to move up and down the drawing sheet list within subsets.
  4. Click OK.
  5. On the Sheet Set Manager, right-click the drawing sheet set and select Resave All Drawing Sheets from the context menu to update the drawing sheet set information in each drawing file.

Note: Rearranging sheets within the drawing sheet set does not automatically update the sheet numbers according to their position in the Drawing Sheet List.
