When
you open SOLIDWORKS models that contain non-C2 continuous features, you can keep the legacy
features or upgrade them to the latest version.
Models
created in SOLIDWORKS 2008 or earlier might contain non-C2 features that the 3DEXPERIENCE platform does not support. When you open such
models, the software warns you about these non-C2 features, and lets you update them to
the current version of SOLIDWORKS or keep the legacy non-C2 features
intact.
Recommendation: Update the legacy features to the current version of
SOLIDWORKS, which converts them to C2 features so they are supported on the
3DEXPERIENCE platform.
The update can change
the design. The feature can change and downstream features may fail.
If you keep the legacy data, the non-C2 feature data is retained.
This update affects these features:
- Surface fill
- Delete face that uses the
Delete and Fill option
- Capping an extruded surface
- Shut-Off surfaces in molds
- Dome
- Extrudes created using 3D Sketch
