Why Use Sketched Bends Instead of Edge Flanges?

You can create bends with sketched bends or edge flanges, but they differ in how they represented in the flat pattern.

It is recommended that you use sketched bends on flat pieces (not in the flattened state) of sheet metal.

Original body 100mm long Bend created with a sketched bend Flat pattern length for sketched bend
Original body 50mm long Bend created with an edge flange Flat pattern length for edge flange

Both bodies are the same in the folded state. However, when you unsuppress the flat patterns, the body with the sketched bend returns to its pre-sketched bend state (100mm long). The other body, depending on its bend allowance, is different. The length could be equal but it could also differ.
