Sheet Metal Parameters from Material

Use material sheet metal parameters Uses sheet metal parameters attached to the selected material.

When you assign a custom material to a sheet metal part, you can link the sheet metal parameters to the material. This option uses sheet metal parameters attached to the selected material.

When selected, the parameters assigned to the material apply to everything in the Sheet- Metal folder in the FeatureManager design tree.

Direction 1 and Direction 2

End Condition Determines how the feature extends. Set the end condition type. If necessary, click Reverse Direction to extend the feature in the opposite direction from that shown in the preview.

Blind

Set the Depth .

Up To Vertex

Select a vertex in the graphics area for Vertex .

Up To Surface

Select a face or plane to extend to in the graphics area for Face/Plane . Double-click a surface to change the End Condition to Up To Surface, with the selected surface as the termination surface. If the sketch that you extrude extends outside of the selected face or surface body, Up To Surface can do some automatic extension of one analytic face to terminate the extrusion.

Offset From Surface

Select a face or plane in the graphics area for Face/Plane , and enter the Offset Distance .If necessary, select Reverse offset to offset in the opposite direction. Example: Translate Surface Select Translate surface to make the end of the extrusion a translation of the reference surface, rather than a true offset.

Mid Plane

Set the Depth .

Sheet Metal Gauges

Up ToUse gauge table Lets you set a gauge table.

Sheet Metal Parameters

Thickness Specifies the sheet metal thickness.
Reverse direction Thickens the sketch in the opposite direction.
Symmetric Adds an equal amount of material to both sides of the sketch.

Symmetrical thickness helps you create sheet metal parts from sketches to help achieve equal bend radii for upward and downward bends.

Bend Radius

Bend Allowance

Bend Allowance Sets the bend allowance type.

If you selected K-Factor, Bend Allowance, or Bend Deduction, enter a value.

If you selected Bend Table or Bend Calculation, select a table from the list, or click Browse to browse to a table.

Auto Relief

Auto Relief Type Sets the relief type.
If you selected Rectangular or Obround, do one of the following:
  • Select Use relief ratio and set a value for Ratio.
  • Clear Use relief ratio and set a value for Relief Width and Relief Depth .
