Exporting SOLIDWORKS Files to Non-SOLIDWORKS File Formats

You can export SOLIDWORKS files as non-SOLIDWORKS file formats to external locations provided you first save the SOLIDWORKS files to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. If you later modify the SOLIDWORKS files locally, you must resave them to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to be able to export them.

To export SOLIDWORKS files as non-SOLIDWORKS files:

  1. With the SOLIDWORKS file (*.SLDPRT *.SLDASM, or *.SLDDRW) open, click File > Export As.
  2. In the Export dialog box, select a file type for Save as type and click Options.
  3. In the System Options dialog box, specify the export options and click OK.
  4. Click Export.

For details on saving files to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, see About Saving Data in PLM Collaboration Services for SOLIDWORKS in Dassault Systèmes User Assistance. Access to Dassault Systèmes User Assistance requires 3DEXPERIENCE credentials.
