Reloading a Revision

If you have a SOLIDWORKS object (part, assembly, or drawing) on your workstation, you can use Reload from Server to download the latest version of the object from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, download the latest references to the object, or both.

Reloaded object files will overwrite the versions on your workstation. If you choose to reload references, you have the choice of overwriting all references on your workstation, or leaving the ones you have modified unchanged and only downloading references that have been added on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Before you begin, ensure that the SOLIDWORKS file is saved in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

To reload a revision:

  1. Select the SOLIDWORKS file in MySession.
  2. To update the SOLIDWORKS file, do one of the following:
    • Click Reload from Server from the Lifecycle tab of the action bar.
    • Right-click the file and select Reload from Server.
  3. Select one of the reload options in the Reload dialog box.
    Option Description
Reload selected file only Reloads only the selected model but not its references.
Reload references only Reloads only the references of the selected model.
Reload file and references Reloads the selected model and its references.
The Reload selected file only and Reload references only options are available only if the selected file in the My Work folder and the corresponding file on the platform are synchronized.
  4. If the selected model includes references whose local copies are different from the ones on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, a confirmation dialog box appears. You can choose to overwrite the local copies or reload the files without overwriting.
    Option Description
Yes Overwrites all the locally modified files and downloads the missing references.
No Does not overwrite or download the locally modified files and the missing references.
    Cancel Cancels the reload operation.
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform updates the model with missing or new files.
