Measurement Start

Measurement Start settings inform CMM Data Import where to locate the beginning of measurement results in the CMM output file.

To display this dialog box:

  1. In the CMM Data Import pane, click Settings .
  2. In the Settings dialog box, select a template and click Edit .
  3. In the CMM Template Editor dialog box, click Measurement Start.
Beginning of Measurement Markers Specifies the available field if it is in the CMM output file.
Go up lines Adjusts the Beginning of Measurement Markers.
If beginning not found, from Axis find Specifies additional criteria if the beginning of measurement is missing:

It is recommended to specify Blank Lines to separate job and part information from the first characteristic measurement in the CMM program. These lines help ensure that the job and part information do not get included as information pertaining to only the first characteristic.

A common problem is the sample ID changes between samples because CMM Data Import interprets the first characteristic as unique for each sample, which results in the sample results having their own line and not together as one.

  • Feature Divider. Finds the Feature Divider.
  • Blank Lines. Finds blank lines.
  • Find. Finds the text you specify.
  • Go Up. Goes up the number of lines you specify.
