Importing Motion Studies into SOLIDWORKS Visualize Connected

To import motion studies into SOLIDWORKS Visualize Connected, first you embed the motion study data in the SOLIDWORKS Connected part or assembly. Then when you import the part or assembly into SOLIDWORKS Visualize Connected, the motion studies are included.

You can import multiple SOLIDWORKS motion studies for SOLIDWORKS parts and assemblies. This is helpful because you:
  • Do not have to reanimate the part or assembly in SOLIDWORKS Visualize.
  • Can use tools such as Mate Controller and flexible subassemblies.

Before you begin:

  1. In the SOLIDWORKS Connected part or assembly, for the motion studies you want to import into Visualize Connected, select Access Motion Study (MotionManager toolbar).

Access Motion Study marks the selected motion studies to be saved when you save the part or assembly.

Saving motion studies increases the file size and results in a longer save time.
  2. Save the part or assembly.

The part or assembly, including the marked motion studies, is saved.

To import the part or assembly and its marked motion studies into a Visualize Connected project:

  1. In Visualize Connected, do one of the following:
    • To import into a new project, click File > Open.
    • To import into an existing project, open the project and click File > Import.
  2. Browse to the part or assembly and click Open.
  3. In the Import Settings dialog box, select Animations.
  4. Specify other import options if required.
  5. Click OK.
The part or assembly, including its marked motion studies, is added to the project.
