Decals are commonly used to put logos on top of other appearances,
something a sticker would achieve in the real world, for example.
-
In the Palette, on the Appearances
tab, do one of the
following:
- Click Add
(Palette toolbar) and click
New Decal.
- Right-click in the Appearances tree and click New
Decal.
-
In the dialog box, browse to an image file to use as a decal
and click Open.
A new decal is added to the project and appears under
Decals in the Appearances tree. The decal is not yet
applied to any geometry.
-
Drag the decal from the tree and drop it onto geometry in the viewport.
The decal is placed on the geometry using a Planar projection with a
direction normal to the geometry.
