Working with the Symbols Palette

You can insert symbols into your schematic and line diagrams using the Symbol palette in a dockable panel.

Double-click the symbol to open a symbol.

Each drawing type (schematic, wiring diagram, and mixed schemes), have a symbol palette. It includes frequently used symbols as well as access to all symbols available in the electrical project libraries. The palettes are fully customizable: you can add or remove groups of symbols, and add or remove symbols. You can configure the use of symbol palettes in the electrical project configuration libraries and palettes tab, and the palette configuration.

Group Management

You can search for symbols using the grouped category. Palettes have a context menu to manage these groups.

Use the following options when working with symbol groups.

Option Description
Add symbols: Adds symbols to the selected group. Opens the symbol selector to select the symbols.
edit this symbol: Opens the symbol in the symbol editor to modify it.
Delete this symbol: Removes the selected symbol from the Palette.
New group: Allows you to create a new group. Opens the Group properties dialog box where you can configure the name and thumbnails.
Group properties: Allows the editing of the group name and to set the size of the thumbnails.
Delete Group: Allows you to delete the group. The symbols contained in the group remain in the Palette.
  Activate Group: Opens a submenu listing all groups. Select the group that you want to activate.

Searching for Symbols

The palettes have an option to search for a specific symbol across the whole symbol library.

In the dialog box, enter the search text and click Find. The app searches Symbol's description field for the text that you entered, and displays the search results.

Add a Symbol to the Palette

Like the macros, you can add a symbol inserted in the graphical area to the palette.

Open the palette to which you want to add the symbol and drop the symbol from the graphic area to the palette group.
