In this exercise, you route and segregate the wires.
This exercise builds on the files from Exercise 4. If you have not
completed that exercise, download the
Exercise 4 electrical project, unzip it
to a local drive, then unarchive it.

Segregating
the Wires
Segregation
defines
the authorization or banning of wire or cable paths in a specific place in
the
installation. For example, you can ban a power wire from running through a duct.
To
segregate
the wires:
- On the SOLIDWORKS Electrical
3D tab of the CommandManager, click Segregation
.
You
define the following segregation rules:
- The control wires (~24 V) run through only the
right-hand vertical duct.
- The power wires (N, L1,
L2,
L3) run through only the left-hand vertical duct.
- In the PropertyManager:
- Click .
- For Select wire style or
cable, click Wire
style
then
Select wire style.
- In the dialog box, expand Group: 0, select ~24V, and click Select.
The selected wire style
appears in the PropertyManager list.
- Under Exclude,
in the graphics area, select the leftmost vertical duct.
- Click
.
- Repeat steps 3b through 3e by selecting Group: 10, both wire
styles,
and under Exclude, selecting the
rightmost vertical duct.
- Click
.
- In the FeatureManager design tree, delete the five wires that
you created in the previous section.
- On the SOLIDWORKS Electrical
3D tab of the CommandManager, click Route Wires
, then click
.
The
segregation rules exclude the wire styles from the selected ducts.
