Symbol Context Menu This section explains the symbol type options in the context menu such as line diagram, schematic, and origin-destination symbols. The context menu can differ depending on the selected symbol. General Option Description Symbol properties Opens the Symbol properties dialog box. Assign component Assigns the selected symbols to an existing component. Move Allows you to move the symbol. Cut Copies the symbol to the SOLIDWORKS Electrical's clipboard and deletes the symbol. Copy Copies the symbol to the SOLIDWORKS Electrical's clipboard. Copy with insertion point Copies the symbol to the SOLIDWORKS Electrical's clipboard and defines the insertion point. Hyperlink Creates and edits a link to an external document. Delete Deletes the symbol from the drawing. Attributes Option Description Edit Attributes Modifies the symbol attributes. View Attributes Displays the symbol attributes. Assign component Assigns the selected symbols to an existing component. Edit cross references style Opens the cross references configuration dialog box. Edit symbol terminals Opens the dialog box to edit the material terminals of the component. Symbol The following commands are available in the symbol's context menu, allowing you to edit that. Option Description Update Updates the inserted symbol in relation to its definition in the Symbol management. Replace Replaces the inserted symbol with another symbol in the Symbol management. Open Symbol Opens the symbol in the modification interface to change its graphics, attributes, or connection points. Add to library Adds the inserted symbol to the Symbol management. Component Properties Opens the dialog box to edit the component and allocate the mark, location and function, enter data specific to the component, and allocate a manufacturer part. Component Option Description Change location Changes the location associated with the symbol. Change function Changes the function associated with the symbol. Insert in terminal strip Inserts the symbol in a terminal strip. Select the terminal strip in the terminal strip selector. Assign manufacturer parts Assigns one or more manufacturer parts with the symbol. Remove manufacturer parts Removes the manufacturer parts associated with the symbol. Insert symbol Inserts a symbol for this component. Insert connection label for components Inserts a connection label associated with the component. Go to Option Description Go to browser Displays in the Components tab, the list of symbols associated with the selected component. Use this feature to define a component by a very large number of symbols. Cabling Manages the cabling and cabling order. Option Description Wire cabling order Produces the cabling order upstream or downstream of the symbol Cable core association Produces the cable association upstream or downstream of the symbol. Orientation Changes the direction of the symbol. Option Description Symbol Rotation Specifies the rotation angle. Icon Description Specifies a 0° rotation. Specifies a 90° rotation.
