Configuring Wire Numbering

You can configure wire numbering settings for the project, wire style management, or individual wire styles.

Configure Settings in the Electrical Project

You can specify the numbering options that apply to the entire project.
  1. Click Electrical Project > Configurations > Project .
  2. Click the Mark tab.
  3. In Wire and component numbering, configure the following options:
    • Direction. Defines the direction of wire numbering. Available settings configure horizontal sequencing, vertical sequencing, and horizontal or vertical priority.
    • Unique order number. When selected, uses the Order number variable used in the marking formulas without discontinuity over the whole electrical project. When cleared, starts the Order number at 1 with each wire group.

Configure Settings in Wire Style Management

You can specify wire numbering options for wire style management.
  1. Click Electrical Project > Configurations > Wire style .
  2. Configure the following options:
    • Numbering. Specifies the numbering mode:
      • Wire. Each physical wire is numbered individually.
      • Equipotential. All the wires that are connected to the same mesh (connected) use the same number.
    • Display. Specifies how numbers display. With the first option, the number is placed in the middle of the segment. With the second option, the number is placed on the first and last segments of the mesh. With the third option, all the numbers are placed in the line segment. For wire numbering, One number per wire is not available.
    • Display style. Specifies how to display equipotential numbers in all electrical project drawings. Equipotential marks only displays the wire number, while Equipotential label displays the wire label.

Configure Settings in the Numbering Group

You can edit wire styles to customize them for your specific needs.
  1. Click Electrical Project > Configurations > Wire style .
  2. In the left panel of the Wire style management dialog, select a numbering group.
  3. Click Properties .
