Export DWG Files

All drawings that you create in SOLIDWORKS Electrical are stored in the EWG format. You can export to a range of DWG/DXF versions that let you share data with other companies.

To access the export option, click Import/Export > Export DWG files .

An option dialog box opens asking you if you want to update the report and terminal strip drawings according to the electrical project configuration settings.
  • Update drawings: All the reports, design rules, and terminal strip drawings update before the command runs.
  • Continue action without updating: Report, design rule, and terminal strip drawings do not update before the command runs.
  • Cancel: Cancels the export. Drawings do not update.

A dialog box opens to let you select a directory for the DWG files. The drawings are exported in a tree structure that reflects the way the electrical project is structured, as shown in the dockable panel.
