Understanding User Data Customization

This topic explains user data customization.

To open User Data Customization, do one of the following:
  • Click Electrical Project > Configurations > User Data > Properties .
  • Click Electrical Project > Configurations > User Data > New .
  • In the dockable panel, right-click an electrical project and click Configurations > User Data > Properties .
  • In the dockable panel, right-click an electrical project and click Configurations > User Data > New .

The dialog box is divided into two tabs. In the General tab, you can enter the name and the description of the user data configuration file. The Edition tab manages the user data. The left side of the Edition tab displays user data while the right side displays the name of the user data or the selected group.

The user data are regrouped under groups (You can rename the group names user data and translatable data; they serve only to distinguish the data types). You can create as many groups as you want, but the quantity of user data is limited for certain elements (for example for cables, the quantity of translatable user data is limited to three).

To facilitate the management of user data, each item of user data is preceded by its order number. This number is also displayed in the dialog boxes for the electrical object properties.

Insert User Data Creates new user data (nontranslatable). The user data is created in the selected group.
