Working with Equipotential Update Mode

SOLIDWORKS Electrical automatically updates the electrical project database and the graphics of the drawings as you work. With large projects however, this involves a large number of calculations, which can cause delays. You can activate Deferred mode to disable automatic project and drawing updates and save time.

Activate and Deactivate Deferred Update Mode

You can activate Deferred mode to disable calculating equipotential updates automatically when you manipulate wires. Using a feature that needs the equipotential information, such as wire cabling order, or exports, enables automatic updating while the feature is running.

  1. To activate Deferred mode, click Process > Activate .
When Deferred mode is active, wire and equipotential numbers are not displayed, and equipotential conflicts are not detected.
    • The Activate icon is highlighted.
    • Automatic updating is disabled.
  2. To deactivate Deferred mode, click Activate .
    • The Activate icon highlight is removed.
    • Automatic updating is enabled.

Update Equipotential Calculations Manually

You can update equipotential calculations manually.
  1. To update the equipotentials, click Process > Update connections .
Update connections is nonly available when Deferred mode is active.
