Inserting Terminal Strips

You can insert and specify terminal strips.

If you start terminal strip selection from the ribbon, a dialog box opens to let you insert a terminal strip. The dockable panel updates when you insert a new terminal strip. Inserting a terminal is similar to inserting a component. You can also insert terminal strip accessories using the component insertion context menu.
  1. Insert the terminal strip using one of the following methods:
    • Click Cabinet layout > Insert terminal strip .
    • Right-click a terminal strip and click Insert terminal strip .
    • Right-click a terminal and click Insert.
  2. To insert another symbol, click Other symbol to select another symbol associated with this manufacturer part.
  3. Select any of the following options:
    Option Description
Selected terminal strip Specifies the terminal strip to insert.
Space between terminals Specifies the offset value between each terminal.
Position of next terminal Specifies the direction of terminal insertion in relation to the first terminal.
Hide background Hides the element behind the new element.
Insert only base manufacturer part Select this option not to insert the terminal trip accessories or auxiliaries.
  4. Click the insertion point of the first terminal.
The terminal is inserted according to the rail orientation. If the rail is horizontal, the terminal is inserted vertically. If the rail is vertical, it is inserted horizontally.

Additional terminals are automatically inserted relative to the first terminal (except if only one terminal is inserted).

Copying terminals that already exist in the graphical interface automatically creates new terminals. They belong to the same terminal strip as the original terminals.
