Inserting Cabinets

The cabinet is the first element to insert. You can insert a cabinet and specify the scale factor according to the title block.

Open the layout drawing for the location of the cabinet. The manufacturer parts allocated to the cabinet, ducts, rails, or accessories appear in the dockable panel.
  1. Insert a cabinet using one of the following methods:
    • Right-click the cabinet reference and click Insert as cabinet .
    • Double-click the cabinet reference.
    If a symbol is associated with the manufacturer part, it is inserted. If no symbol is associated, a rectangular generic symbol (EW_2D_Cabinet) is inserted using the X and Y dimensions of the manufacturer part.
  2. To insert another symbol or edit a symbol:
    1. Click Other symbol to select another symbol different from the suggested symbol.
    2. Select the angle of rotation of the cabinet and adjust the direction of the insertion of the 2D footprint. Click the insertion point in the graphic interface.
  3. Optional: Select Hide background to place elements behind the new element.
  4. Optional: Add a new cabinet reference by clicking Add cabinet from the menu.
    1. In the dialog box, select a new reference from the manufacturer part.
    2. Confirm the inserted reference.
    3. Scale the cabinet by clicking Cabinet layout > Scale .
      If you know the scale factor, use a scale factor of 1:1 and edit the scale later.
    4. Click Scale attributes to apply the scale factor to the attributes. If you clear Scale attributes, the 2D footprint size attributes are applied.
  5. Do one of the following to insert other elements.
    • Right-click the accessory reference and click Insert as other element .
    • Double-click Insert as other element in the accessory reference.
    If no 2D footprint is associated with the manufacturer part, a generic thumbnail (rectangle) is inserted.
