Creating Scheme Macros

You can create a scheme macro from a drawing that contains the elements you want to store and reuse.

  1. Open the drawing that contains the elements you want to store in the library.
  2. In the dockable panel, click the Macros tab .
  3. In the graphical zone, select the entities you want to save.
  4. To create a macro, do one of the following:
    • Drag the entities into one of the sections of the palette.
    • Right-click a macro group and click Save into macros.
    • Click Edit > Copy with insertion point.
  5. Right-click a macro group and click Paste as new macro.
  6. Enter the data relating to the macro.
    The macro is added to Macros management and is available for insertion into other electrical projects.
  7. In the dockable panel, do any of the following:
    Option Description
    Add existing macros Selects a macro stored in the library and adds it to the list of macros in the palettes.
    Save selection into macros Saves the selected elements into a macro. The macro is created in the group where the command is launched.
    Paste as new macro If you have used Copy with insertion point, the selected graphical elements in the clipboard are pasted as a new macro.
    Edit this macro Opens the macro in the graphical interface for modification. The macro is viewed as an electrical project. It appears in the Pages tab in the dockable panel.
    Delete this macro Deletes the selected macro from the palette (it is not deleted from the library).
    New group Creates a new macro group.
    Group properties Accesses the selected group’s properties.
    Delete group Deletes the selected group.
    Activate group Activates the group that is selected from the context menu.
