Exporting to Excel You can export electrical project data to an Excel file. When you export, SOLIDWORKS Electrical takes a snapshot (creates a temporary file containing the exported data) of the existing data in the electrical project (one snapshot file per template file). This is compared with the new data when you import the modified data. Click Import/Export > Export to Excel . In the Welcome to the Excel export wizard, specify the following options to select the templates to use. Option Description Add. Lets you add Excel templates to the list. A dialog box opens to let you select the templates you want to add. Remove. Lets you remove the selected Excel templates. Select all. Lets you select all the Excel templates on the list. Export saved point. Opens the Export saved points management dialog box to let you delete the existing snapshots of a previous export. Select the Excel templates you want to export and click Next. Optional: If a template is already exported (a snapshot is already created), select one of the following: Export another time. A new snapshot file is created and the existing snapshot is saved. Each snapshot has a unique ID used for the import comparison. Delete existing exports. The existing snapshot is deleted and replaced by the new one. If you want to import the previous Excel file and the snapshot no longer exists, the import could cause an error. In the Export data in an Excel file wizard, do the following: Select destination folder. Click the icon and select the directory where you want to save the Excel files. Open folder after exporting. Select the box if you want to open File Explorer to the directory where the files are saved. Click Finish to start the export. If the Excel file exists, a dialog box opens. Select one of the following: Override it. The existing file is deleted and replaced with the new file. Rename it. The existing file is saved and a dialog box opens to let you enter a new name for the new file. Parent topicExport/Import Excel
