Inserting a Black Box

You can use the Insert black box command to insert a black box into a schematic drawing.

The first time you insert a black box, you can insert a symbol from the symbol selector. This symbol is saved, and you can use it when you next insert a symbol.
  1. Click Schematic > Insert black box .
    The dockable panel displays the following options:
    Icon Description
    Pins the command. You can continue using the command if it is pinned.
    Stops the command after one symbol is inserted.
    Stops the command.
  2. From the symbol selector, select a symbol to insert.

    The dockable panel shows the last symbol that you inserted. If no symbol is saved, the symbol selector opens automatically. If you do not want to insert the symbol shown, click Other symbol.

  3. Select the appropriate options.
    The following options are available.
    Manual marks Opens the Symbol dialog box and the mark is displayed in manual mode.
    Ask for properties The mark is automatically calculated and applied according to the electrical project settings.
    Adjust size to drawing unit Lets you manage unit dimension conflicts. For example, manages the insertion of an IEC symbol into a drawing using a title block with imperial units.
  4. In the graphic interface, click the insertion point.
  5. Click the point that marks the dimensions of the black box.
