You can specify the SOLIDWORKS PDM variables using Assembly Visualization Properties
to
view
them
in the Assembly Visualization tool of
SOLIDWORKS.
In the Assembly
Visualization tool of SOLIDWORKS, you can view the SOLIDWORKS PDM
variables in the Custom Column dialog box
under Properties.
You can specify the SOLIDWORKS PDM variables in a property list. To
create a property list of variables, right-click Assembly
Visualization Properties (), and select New List. In the
dialog box that appears, name the list, add variables, and assign a user or a group.
You can create multiple property lists but only one
of
them is displayed in the Assembly Visualization
tool of SOLIDWORKS for a user or a group.
There are scenarios when a user is not directly assigned to any property
list but is a member of groups assigned to multiple lists. Therefore the user is
indirectly assigned to multiple lists. For example, the user
A is not assigned to any list but is a
member
of the following groups assigned to lists:
Groups |
Property Lists |
Reviewers |
PropList1 |
Designers |
PropLst |
Admin |
Props |
In these scenarios
the
following criteria are used to decide which list to be displayed
in
the
Assembly Visualization tool:
- Finding all groups having the user as its member and having
lists assigned.
- Sorting the groups alphabetically by group name.
The Assembly Visualization tool
displays the list from the first group after sorting, for example, Props.
