Extraction Settings

Extraction Settings are in the second page of the Create Inspection Project PropertyManager. In Extraction Settings, you specify types of annotations to extract.

Dimensions

Specifies the type of dimensions to extract from the drawing. Some options are unavailable if you specify Extraction as Manual.

Include Includes all dimension types.
Inspection Only  
Reference  
Basic  
Feature  
Secondary Units Dual dimensions or secondary dimensions.
Overridden Value Uses overridden values defined in the drawing.
Split Chamfer Dimensions Creates separate rows for the linear dimension and angle.

Notes

Specifies the type of notes to extract from the drawing.

Include Includes all notes.
Sheet Format Notes that belong to the sheet format in the notes operation.
Auto-explode Creates a separate instance for each section of the note. When selected, it creates a separate row for each instance when you export to an inspection report.
Extraction criteria Specify a Regular Expression to filter note results. A regular expression is a pattern that matches multiple strings.

The next time you load data from the drawing, the new regular expression filters notes.

Recommendation: Save the default regular expression in a text file.

Additional Settings

Select Include to extract these items from drawings:

  • GDTs (geometric tolerance symbols)
  • Hole Callouts. You can include Inspection Only, Reference, or Basic hole callouts. Select Auto-explode to create a separate instance for each section of the hole callout. When selected, it creates a separate row for each instance when you export to an inspection report.
  • Hole Table
  • Welds
  • Surface Finishes

Sheets

You can specify sheets to balloon instead of ballooning all sheets in a drawing.

Include All Balloons all sheets in the drawing.

Clear to specify sheets to balloon.

Starting Value Specifies the value of the first balloon.
Selected Sheets Specifies which sheets to balloon.
Sequence/Starting Value Specifies the balloon sequence.

You can select a predefined sequence that you defined with the Balloon Sequence tool, or select Continue from previous sheet to continue the sequencing from the previous drawing sheet.
