- IDF
Intermediate Data Format (IDF) is a vendor-neutral format for exchanging printed circuit assembly (PCA) information between PCB layout design (ECAD) systems and Mechanical CAD systems such as SOLIDWORKS. CircuitWorks reads and writes IDF 2.0, IDF 3.0, and IDF 4.0.
- PADS ASCII
The PADS ASCII (.asc) file format from Mentor Graphics ® lets other CAD systems interface with PADS PCB products without accessing internal databases or source code. An entire Mentor database (system parameters, parts lists, connectivity data, and so on) can be saved as a PADS ASCII file. CircuitWorks reads and writes PADS ASCII files.
- CircuitWorks Data File Format
CircuitWorks stores ECAD data internally in CircuitWorks Data File (*.cwx) format regardless of the source format (IDF or PADS).
