Drawing Open Progress Indicator

The Drawing Open Progress indicator provides information on the status of operations while you open a drawing.

For drawings that take longer than 60 seconds to open, the indicator remains open after the drawing opens.

The indicator provides information on the following operations:

Load Components Loads the part or the top-level assembly and referenced documents. Shows the number of opened components and the total number of files in the model.
Update Drawing Updates models including mates, assembly features, patterns, and in-context models. If the drawing has multiple sheets, shows the total number of sheets and which sheet is being updated. Click Skip remaining to interrupt loading of sheets after the current sheet.
Update Graphics Generates graphics.
Elapsed time Shows the amount of time required to open the drawing.
Previous time to open Shows the amount of time required to open the drawing the last time the drawing was opened.

For assembly drawings, the Previous time to open operation is specific to the assembly mode. This information is saved for Lightweight and Resolved modes.

After opening the drawing, click Performance Evaluation in the indicator dialog box to view performance information specific to opening the drawing. To view the performance information later, click Tools > Evaluate > Performance Evaluation.

You can suppress the Drawing Open Progress indicator by selecting Do not show again. To restore the progress indicator, click Tools > Options > System Options. Under Messages/Errors/Warnings, click Dismissed messages and select Drawing Open Progress Indicator.
