Creating Configurations Manually

To create a configuration manually, you specify its properties, then modify the model to create variations in the new configuration.

In the CAD Family tab, the configuration appears as a physical product or a representation.

To create a configuration manually:

  1. In either a part or assembly document, click the CAD Family tab or the ConfigurationManager at the top of the FeatureManager design tree.
  2. In the configuration view, right-click the part or assembly name. For the ConfigurationManager tab, select Add Configuration . For the CAD Family tab, select Inserts new physical product or Inserts representation in a physical product .
  3. In the PropertyManager, enter a name and specify properties for the new configuration.
  4. Click .
  5. Click the FeatureManager design tree tab to return to the FeatureManager design tree.
  6. Modify the model to create the design variation.
    You can also use the Modify Configurations dialog box to create and modify configurations for commonly configured parameters. You can add, delete, and rename configurations, and change which configuration is active.
