Configuring the Page Layout

You can manage the print parameters of the active DWG file or SOLIDWORKS Electrical Schematic file.

To access to the page setup, click File > Page setup .

Printer

Options Description
Name Select the printer that you want to use. Click the Properties button if you want to access to the Windows printer parameters.
State Displays the state of the printer selected.
Type Displays the printer type (this information comes from the printer parameters).
Placement Displays the port in which the printer is connected.
Comment Displays the comment associated with the printer (this information comes from the printer parameters).

Paper

Options Description
Size In the list, select the predefined paper format managed by the printer.
Source In the list, select the paper source to use.
Inches/mm Select the unit used to manage the print job.
Plot area Displays the dimensions of the print area in the units selected.

Plot Offset

Options Description
Center plot Check the box to center the print on the page.
X Enter the horizontal offset value.
Y Enter the vertical offset value.

Page Orientation

Options Description
Portrait/Landscape Select the page orientation.
Plot with vertical symmetry Check the box if you want to print the graphical entities with symmetry.

Plot Scale

In the list, select a predefined scale ratio or enter a specific ratio (Unit printed = Drawing unit). When you select a predefined ratio, two fields display the printed and drawing units. The setting Fit to format scales the graphical entities to fit into the selected paper size.

Plot Area

Defines the drawing or file area to print.

Options Description
All geometry Area defined by the bounding box of all visible entities.
Drawing boundaries Area defined by the grid zone in the drawing parameters.
Current view Area visible on the screen or the current view when drawing is saved.

Plot Style Table

Each screen color used on the graphical entities corresponds to a color and a thickness on the paper. If you do not use a Plot style table, the screen colors and line thickness will be the same on the paper.

You can define a personal correspondence using plot style tables.

In the list, select the plot style table you want to use.

You can edit the plot style table selected by clicking Modify plot style table file. A dialog box opens in which you can associate each screen color with a printed color and thickness.

In the plot style table list, if you select None, you can check the box Plot with line thickness, where the colors and line thicknesses will be the same on the screen and on the paper.

Options Description
Network Allows you to access a network printer.
Preview Displays the graphical entities as they appear after being printed on the page.
