Insert Connection label (Manufacturer part)

You can insert connection labels into scheme drawings, wiring diagrams, and 2D layout drawings. If you want to place a connection label into a terminal strip or report drawing, first insert it into a scheme drawing, then move it into the terminal strip or report drawing using the Cut/Paste commands.

To insert a connection label representing a manufacturer part, do one of the following:
  • Click Schematic > Connection label > Connection label browser for manufacturer parts .
  • Click Line diagram > Connection label > Connection label browser for manufacturer parts .
  • Click Cabinet layout > Connection label > Connection label browser for manufacturer parts .
  • Click Annotate > Connection label > Connection label browser for manufacturer parts .
This is available only if you make changes to 2D drawings from 3D and flattened routing documents.

Inserting a connection label from a manufacturer part is only possible from the dockable panel. This option can be enabled from the connection label icon.

When selected, the dockable panel opens a new Connection label tab.

SOLIDWORKS Electrical inserts the connection label associated with the manufacturer part. If this association does not exist, the connection label is assigned to its class by default.

If the component has multiple manufacturer parts assigned to it, SOLIDWORKS Electrical inserts as many connection labels as there are manufacturer parts assigned to the component (multiple insertions). A check box beside each tag helps you visualize the connection labels that are already inserted.
