Adding Welding Symbols
Weld symbols provide information about weld and welding processes: the type of weld required, the dimensions of the weld, and any other necessary processing and finishing information.
Use the AM_WeldingSymbol command to add standard-based weld symbols to your drawing. You can place a weld symbol at a specified location or attach it to an existing entity. When you attach the symbol to an entity, the software automatically manages the connection between the symbol and the entity. The symbol moves along with the entity.
Elements of a weld symbol
The basic weld symbol consists of the following elements:
- Arrow. The arrow points to the location where the weld will be created.
- Reference line. The reference line is a horizontal line that serves as a support for weld related information, such as weld pattern, weld size, bevel angle.
- Tail. The tail contains additional information about the welding process, for example, the electrode.
To add a weld symbol to an entity:
- Do one of the following:
- On the menu, click Mechanical Annotate > Symbols > Welding > Create.
- On the ribbon, select Mechanical Annotate > Symbols > Welding Create.
