Creating Spheres

The Sphere command creates a 3D solid sphere.

The center point is related to the coordinate system. The generation of the sphere depends on the coordinate system too, even if the sphere seems to be independent from any direction. The segmentation of the sphere occurs differently in the angle directions (latitude and longitude).

To create a sphere:

  1. Click Solids > Draw > Sphere (or type Sphere).
  2. Click in the graphics area to specify a center point or type the 3D coordinates.
  3. Set the radius by clicking in the graphics area or typing a value. The distance between the center point and the point picked is used for the radius.
  4. - or -
  5. Enter the Diameter option, then set the diameter by pointing in the graphics area or typing a value.

Access

Command: Sphere

Menu: Solids > Draw > Sphere

Ribbon: 2D Drafting > Modeling > (Flyout) Sphere
Ribbon: 2D Drafting > Mesh > (Flyout) Sphere
