BOM
Headers Grouping |
Defines how the BOM is organized in
SOLIDWORKS PDM.
Three
options
are available:
- By
Location - Each project location has a
corresponding BOM header with a list of parts and cables
used.
- By Component
Type - Three BOM headers are created:
one
each for parts, cables, and
harnesses.
- One
Global - One BOM
header
is created, containing all parts and
cables.
To avoid file naming conflicts in
SOLIDWORKS PDM, specify a naming rule for BOM headers
that
corresponds to the
selected
grouping type.
Example:
- When using
By
Location,
the naming rule
includes
a
formula
to
generate a unique name for each
location.
- When
using
By Component
Type,
you
can use a naming rule like
{COMPONENT.Type}_BOM.swebom.cvd

Exported BOM
objects |
Defines which types of components
are included in a BOM:
- Parts
- Includes manufactured
parts.
- Cables - Includes
cables.
- Harnesses - Includes parts and cables used
in harnesses.
Harnesses do not belong to any location, so when
you use the By Location
BOM grouping, the system ignores parts and cables that only
belong to a harness.
