Modifying File Vault Properties

You can change a file vault's security or login settings.

When you change the Admin user password in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration tool, the vault-specific admin user becomes active.
When you replicate a vault, SOLIDWORKS PDM activates the vault-specific settings.

To modify a file-vault's properties:

  1. Right-click the file vault and select Properties.
  2. In the file vault's Properties dialog box, select the Login tab.
  3. To change the login type:
    1. Under Login type, clear Use default login type.
    2. Select the login type for this vault.
    3. Complete the settings for the login type you selected.
  4. To change the Admin password:
    1. Under Admin user, clear Use default Admin user.
    2. In the Admin Password dialog box, type and confirm the password.
    3. Click OK.
  5. To change the SQL login:
    1. Under SQL login, clear Use default SQL login.
    2. In the Change SQL User Login dialog box, type the name of a user with db-owner access.
    3. Type and confirm a password.
    4. Click OK.
  6. To set a vault-specific admin password: Under Admin user clear Use default Admin user and enter a vault-specific admin password. Click OK.
  7. To set a vault-specific SQL login for this file vault: Under SQL login clear Use default SQL login and enter a vault-specific SQL login account. Click OK.
  8. Click OK.
