You can use the Settings Administrator Tool to
specify system options that are applied when deploying or upgrading the SOLIDWORKS
software, and to prevent users from changing those options. This tool replaces the
SOLIDWORKS Settings Wizard for deploying settings, although that wizard is still
available for copying settings.
There are three steps to using the Settings
Administrator Tool
with the Administrator Image Option Editor:
- Create an administrative image to access the tool.
- Use the Settings
Administrator
Tool to generate a *.sldsettings file, which contains your selected SOLIDWORKS
options.
- Include the *.sldsettings
file in SOLIDWORKS installations.
If you are using the
3DEXPERIENCE add-in, you can also
deploy an *.sldsettings file outside of an administrative image. An advantage of using
this method is that the settings automatically deploy at login.
- To
access
the Settings
Administrator
Tool,
follow the steps given in Accessing the Settings Administrator Tool
.
- Follow the instructions to apply and lock settings.
- From the 3DEXPERIENCE Compass,
expand My Roles and click the Platform Manager app. Go to .
- In CAD Settings, browse, upload, and download the
*.sldsettings file.
