The Initial Conditions PropertyManager applies initial displacements, velocities or accelerations for modal time history and nonlinear dynamic studies to entities at time 0.
To display this PropertyManager:
Create a Linear Dynamic time history or Nonlinear Dynamic study. Right-click External Loads
and click Initial Conditions.

If you select a planar face or a
reference plane, you can specify initial conditions Along Plane Dir 1
,Along Plane Dir 2
, or Normal to Plane
. |
|
|
If you select a cylindrical face
or a reference axis, you can specify initial conditions in the
Radial, , Circumferential
, or Axial
directions.
|
|
|
If you select a straight edge, you
can specify initial conditions along the edge . |
The initial velocity is relative to velocity of Uniform Base Excitation, if you do
not specify the initial velocity, the solver assumes that initial velocity of the
entire structure is equal to the velocity of the Uniform Base Excitation at time =
0, the dynamic response is based on this initial condition.
