Defining Custom Bends - Elbows

For a pipe route, if you select Always use elbow in the Route Properties PropertyManager when you start a route, and you create a non-standard angle in the route, then for that angle you must select an alternate elbow, create a custom elbow, or form a bend in the pipe.

When you close the 3D sketch, if you have a non-standard angle in the route, the sketch segments are highlighted, dimensions are displayed, and a dialog box appears.

Parameters

Diameter (Read-only) Displays the diameter of the pipe.
Radius (Read-only) Displays the fillet radius of the route at the non-standard angle.
Angle (Read-only) Displays the size of the non-standard angle.

Options

Use Default/Alternate Elbow Uses an alternate existing elbow that you specify.
Make Custom Elbow Creates a custom elbow based on a standard elbow that you specify. The custom elbow is saved as a new part.
Create Form Bends Forms a bend in the pipe at the non-standard angle.
Use these settings for all other identical arcs Select to use these settings as a template for arcs of the same radius and length.
Create elbow using Lists the library file specified in your routing option.

If you selected Use Default/Alternate Elbow, browse to an elbow part that contains a configuration with the necessary dimensions, and click Open. If the bend radius in the selected elbow is different from the fillet radius in the 3D sketch, the sketch is modified accordingly.

If you selected Make Custom Elbow, specify a standard elbow to use as the basis for the custom elbow you want to create.

For both the options, you can browse local computer or 3DEXPERIENCE

platform.
Configuration to use Displays the elbow configurations for the part specified in Create elbow using. Select the configuration you want to use.
Save custom elbow as Suggests a path and file name if you create a new custom elbow. Accept the suggested path, or browse to specify a different one.
